Spring is Here!
I would like to take a moment and show our support of the troops fighting in Iraq. No matter what you think of the war, now is the time to support and pray for the safe return of our men and women of the Armed Forces. God Bless!
On a lighter note: Spring has Sprung! April is a great month to get out and enjoy the sunshine and beautiful weather. Notice our two employees doing that very thing in the "Strandcam shot of the month". With daylight savings this weekend the days will begin to get a bit longer.
April is always an exciting time for us here at Good Stuff. On this past Monday we had the very successful Vistas for Children Golf Tournament and look forward to a couple more events benefiting kids this month. First on Sunday, April 6 we will participate in the 18th Annual "For Our Children" Food and Wine Festival. Come taste some incredible culinary delights from around the South Bay and by doing so you can help raise money for some great children’s charities. The event starts at 3pm in Torrance near Little Company of Mary Hospital, 20911 Earl Street, just North of Torrance Blvd. Stop by and say "Hi".
Another great fundraiser for kids goes off Saturday, April 26, the Richstone Family Center’s 16th Annual Pier to Pier Walk. Starting from the Manhattan Beach Pier at 8am and proceeding down the Strand to Hermosa Pier and back to Manhattan is the course. The objective is to raise money for the Center’s on going Kid’s programs. This is a great organization, which Good Stuff has been a proud supporter of for more than 11 years. . The great thing about this event is that the money raised is matched by KTLA Charities. Good Job KTLA! I urge you to find out more about this event and Richstone by calling 310-970-1921.

News Flash!
Ground breaking officially happened in Downtown El Segundo: I know I have been talking about our new restaurant for some time now. Well, after a couple of delays, which is normal, we have broken ground and the construction is starting on the parking structure and our building. Here is a picture at the ceremony with the owners of the property and city officials, including the honorable Mayor Mike Gordon and city councilmen, Kelly McDowell and John Gaines and planning director, Jim Hanson. We are now targeting Fall as a great time to open Good Stuff in El Segundo.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Augustin (Morro)
|
Meet Agustin, better known as Morro to our regular customers in West LA. Morro has been a mainstay at the counter since 1989. How great is it to have employees stick around for 14 years, being an owner, it is fantastic! Morro knows the West LA ropes better than I do. He is an invaluable employee who holds us all together when the action heats up. When there is a line out the door and the phone is ringing off the hook, Morro is as cool as a cucumber. Without him we don’t click.
The real story doesn’t start in 1989. His father and uncle Lalo were the first two employees I met when I started a management job in Beverly Hills way, way back in 1978. Lalo still works for us in West LA as well. You might remember him as a past Employee of the Month.
Hey at Good Stuff we are one big happy family with brother, Fausto, and uncle, Rogelio, working with Morro too.
