What a month we had in July, kicking off with some great fireworks from El Segundo to Torrance beach. We enjoyed great music on the pier in Redondo, in the park in Manhattan and on the sand in Hermosa. As always we had great volleyball, watching some of the best young talent compete in Hermosa during the AAU youth championships with teams traveling from as far as Florida to play. The AAU continues as part of the AVP Tournament in Manhattan (see below). Good luck to my daughter, Cassidy and her partner Brittany as they try to do some damage in their pool that weekend.
The summer heats up in August starting off with the 3 day International Surf Festival the first weekend of the month. With events going off up and down our beaches they are too numerous to mention all. Come down to Manhattan Friday night for the Bud Stevenson relay and Saturday night for the Taplin relay. The Manhattan crew will be defending their title on Friday so come down and catch the action next to the pier. Watch some of the best Lifeguards compete in various relays on the sand and surf under the lights. Good Stuff is a proud sponsor of our lifeguards, so keep your eye out for our numerous paddleboards and dories as they race during the event.
Saturday morning, also in Manhattan, the 6 person Volleyball Tournament starts with teams of skilled men and women competing for bragging rights on the beach. This competition continues on Sunday all day and if you have not had the opportunity to catch this tournament I strongly suggest coming down. The play is competitive and each team brings flavor in costumes and antics throughout the weekend. We also are proud sponsors of a men and womens team each year. It’s fun being able to sponsor the same group of guys and gals for many, many years. Good luck to our Good Stuff teams!
The month continues with more concerts, the AVP pro volleyball competition, the Aloha Days Surf Festival, the Catalina Classic, the Manhattan Grand Prix, and much, much more. Have fun!
