Surf Into Good Stuff

Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift.
That's why it is called the present.

Employee Of The Month
Miguel from Mammoth

Miguel began his employment at Good Stuff Restaurant as a dishwasher in the Hermosa Beach store in the summer of 1985. He was quickly promoted to busboy, then to a prep cook, and then again to a line cook.
In the summer of 1991, Cris Bennett looked to open a Good Stuff Restaurant in Mammoth Lakes and asked Miguel to go with him as the head chef. Miguel took the offer and moved his wife and his then 9 month old son to the community of Mammoth. In 1995, Cris decided to sell the restaurant to Randy and Joel, current employees of the Mammoth location. Miguel and his family had already made this place home and so they decided to stay. Randy and Joel later decided to sell the restaurant and so, seeing yet another opportunity, Miguel with the help of a partner, Cecilia, bought the restaurant.
Now, Miguel has been the happy owner of the Mammoth Lakes Good Life Café for 7 months. He is highly motivated to work hard and be successful. He says, “We’ll do whatever it takes to make it work.” And it is working out just great! Other past employees at the Good Life Café deserving recognition include Arturo who works as a server/host/ or whatever is needed and Poncho, an excellent line cook.
So, next time you are in Mammoth Lakes be sure to say “Hi!” and stop by the Good Life Café, open 6:30am to 3:00 pm daily. You can reach them at (760) 934-1734. Miguel, you are truly a hero who began washing dishes and is now signing payroll checks. Great job!
