The Circle of Life

Well this has been quite a month for all of us at Good Stuff. The Highest of Highs and the Lowest of Lows.
First we all had to relive the nightmare that was 9/11. I know that it was painfull for all of us. Then on Sept. 13th @ 8:35am my wife and I were blessed with the arrival of a new baby to the world. (see "In the Spotlight") and on the next day @ 3 am my partner, my friend and my dad passed away from his struggles with Parkinsons disease.(see "Employee of the Month")
Thanks to all for the emails, the phone calls, the support, and the love you have all shown us. Our hearts are touched forever.

A New Restaurant in the Horizon
We are pleased to announce the signing of a lease for our 5th Good Stuff Restaurant. Our new location will be on the corner of Grand Ave. and Richmond in Downtown El Segundo. Downtown El Segundo is currently going through a rebirth with many new happenings, including a streetscape. We are excited to be part of a new era in the City. Since the building is just now starting to be built we do have some time before we open. The exciting part is that we can be influential in the design of the exterior as well as the interior.
We’ll keep you posted on the progress.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Gary Bennett

My Dad passed away on September 14th. He has been a fixture in Hermosa since we opened in 1980. Although he wasn’t really an employee, he was my partner; I still thought it appropriate to honor him one final time.
Dad was born at home May 12, 1931 in Meadow, a small town in Southern Utah. He was the youngest of 5 children. He played Football, Basketball and ran Track for his High School. He graduated in 1949 and moved to California where he worked for TWA Airlines. He returned to Utah to marry his high school sweetheart, MarJene Christensen on March 17, 1951 and came back to Los Angeles. He served in the Korean War from 52 - 54 where he was stationed on the front line.
He worked in the Electronics Industry for 37 years and was very successful. Dad was a down to earth guy and put everyone at ease with his quick wit and friendly small town charm. His dream was to open a hamburger stand and that dream came true when we opened Good Stuff Burgers in 1979.
